Under the visionary leadership of Chief Civil Engineering Officer Ms Nazek Al Sabbagh, the Dubai Ports Customs and Free Zone Corporation have introduced a number of civil engineering accreditation programs. EFI International trainers will deliver all the accreditation courses.
These accreditation programs are a first in the Gulf region and focus on a series of four Regulation and Design Guideline Codes. In 2007 over 500 contractors and consultants will be accredited in the following four codes:
• Building • Construction Materials and Quality • Marinas and Small Craft Harbour • Urban Planning and MEP Services.
All accredited and certified professionals will be empowered and authorized to oversee the enforcement of regulations as set by the Authority. The main objective is to for all to know and understand the Civil Engineering Department’s requirements and regulations and to ensure that all work is conducted safely and efficiently, that high quality workmanship is the norm and there is a significant reduction in down time and wastage and costs.
EFI International is proud to have been selected by the Ports Customs and Free Zone Corporation as the provider of these accreditation programs.
Comments: An Excellent Introduction to the New JAFZA Building Regulations & Design Guidelines ( Fourth Edition-2006) as really well-presented by the two highly qualified ‘Professional Mentors’, Colin Johansen and Greg Williams, who navigated all the 25 Sections with clarity and alacrity over a 3 (three) day period with good audience participation, regular ‘Stretch Pauses’ combined with some “ Good, Old –Fashioned Australian Humour !!!’. Let me say that, after over 35(thirty-five) years practising ‘Architecture in 4 (four) continents and 5(five) countries, this Course has changed my whole attitude to the Building Regulations………….I now want to read them!!!
